Indoor air quality has received considerable media and governmental attention in recent years. Part of this attention is due to recent litigation which has resulted in substantial rewards to individuals who proved they were subjected to indoor air quality which adversely affected their health or work performance. The question is, what is acceptable indoor air quality? One professional organization has defined acceptable indoor air quality as "Air in an occupied space toward which a substantial majority of occupants express no dissatisfaction and which there are not likely to be known contaminants at concentrations leading to exposures that pose a significant health risk".
As demonstrated by the aforementioned definition of indoor air quality, there is no clear cut standard to what constitutes good indoor air quality. At EEI, we can assess the indoor air quality of our client's homes, office, schools or other buildings. This assessment can be used to identify any indoor air quality concerns. EEI then works with our clients to correct any identified indoor air problems. Thus, EEI has improved our client's air quality in their dwelling, work place or their children's school. By addressing indoor air quality concerns quickly and effectively, EEI minimizes a client's risk of litigation and losses due to decreased productivity.
Any testing, monitoring or inspection services performed by EEI are documented in a report. This report includes an introduction which provides the background, and scope of work for the project. The next portion of the report provides an executive summary of the data collected along with a more detailed description of the results. Conclusions and recommendations based upon the data are also provided. The report also contains a complete description on how the data was collected, including a summary of the sampling and analytical techniques utilized. The final section delineates the quality assurance and quality control measures implemented to ensure accurate data. Finally, the report will include an Appendix containing support documentation for the project.
